Tour de Taylor 2017

Maple Hill Auto Group is proud to sponsor the Tour de Taylor, a bike race raising money for the Make a Wish Foundation. This race is in honor of 14-year-old Taylor Grainger who passed in 2007 due to cardiac arrest. Her family was then inspired to form a fundraiser combining two of Taylor’s favorite things: biking and helping children. The Graingers created the Walk Tall Foundation for Kids and ride under the name Team Taylor.

Hundreds of riders showed up to Mattawan Middle School ready to bike the Tour de Taylor. Riders could choose between 12, 32, or 68 mile routes, beginning in Mattawan and racing through Paw Paw, Lawton, and Decator, returning for a catered lunch. Registration fees and sponsorship contributed to this years donation.

The Make a Wish foundation raises money to grant children with life threatening illnesses their wish. As a non-profit, Make a Wish depends on donations such as the 1.8 million dollars Team Taylor has given which has helped 120 kids—12 of them being children from the West Michigan area. The Make a Wish foundation believes that granting a sick child their wish and giving them hope will help them fight another day.

Maple Hill has worked closely with Team Taylor and Make a Wish for the past nine years and we hope to continue for many more.
