The New VW Atlas

The new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas debuted earlier this year and has lived up to the hype of the first seven passenger standard VW. Previously, the Tiguan had the option for seven seats, but the Atlas is built for it. The spacious interior allows for adult passengers to sit comfortably in every row making this mid-size SUV feel like a full-size SUV. The seats aren’t the only thing comparable though. Trunk space is actually larger than the standard, full size, Chevy Tahoe. With easily collapsible seats in both the second and third row, transportation will never be a struggle.

Unlike it’s sometimes complicated predecessors, the digital dash in the Atlas has been refined and simplified to compete in the American market. Depending on the model, the Atlas comes with a digital cockpit which allows up to four drivers to program profiles, themes, and vehicle settings. The design is sleek and adaptable and comes with many upgradeable features.

On the technical side, the v6 S Atlas comes with a 276 horsepower, 3.6 liter engine with the choice of FWD or AWD. It includes four terrain settings and allows for both normal and sport mode for the transmission. The handling is similar to the previous volkswagen models, very light, but sport mode does add some amount of hands-on handling. The Atlas comes with an advanced safety system and offers multiple upgrades after a six month trial. Just like any VW, the Atlas comes with a six year/72,000 mile, fully transferable, bumper to bumper, warranty.
