Maple Hill Subaru Steps to the Plate for Little League

Batter up! Little League baseball and softball play is under way and Maple Hill Subaru is a proud supporter of teams across West Michigan. In our area, more than 4,000 kids play t-ball, baseball and softball, and Maple Hill Auto is the title sponsor 5 local Little League organizations.

At Maple Hill, we believe in giving back to our community, and Little League is one of our treasured local institutions. This season marks our 13th year as participating with local Little Leagues and we’ve helped them improve facilities and operations, including buying lawn mowers, purchasing equipment, building backstops and batting cages, refurbishing fields and improving dugouts.

Along with these Little Leagues, Maple Hill contributes time and funds to a wide range of area organizations and non-profits. While we’re proud of our efforts with all of our community partners, we feel the values learned when kids participate in their local Little League are especially important.  As a child growing up in Kalamazoo, our Owner/General Manager Jim VandenBerg played baseball and hockey and says the experiences helped teach him future leadership skills and the value of teamwork. By sponsoring these Little Leagues, we hope to encourage these kids to learn some of these values too.

Among the area Little Leagues that benefit from our involvement are Westwood Little League, West Portage Little League, Mattawan Little League, Vicksburg Little League and the South Portage Little League.

This is just one way Maple Hill Subaru is sharing in Subaru of America’s, mission to improve the communities that have helped our businesses flourish. Or, Jim puts it: “We try to be good guys and give back.”

Now, let’s play ball
