For sports car enthusiasts, Subaru has three new performance models sure to impress any driver. Subaru’s all-new 2022 BRZ, 2021 WRX and 2021 WRZ STI vehicles boast powerful engines, innovative designs, the latest in safety and technology, and satisfy that need for speed.

BRZ

The all new 2022 BRZ is a powerful sports car infused with Subaru’s signature quality and premiere handling. The redesigned BRZ has improved horsepower, torque and acceleration, and comes equipped with a new, larger 2.4-liter direct-injection Subaru Boxer engine, lending it 228 horsepower and 15 percent great torque. That means you can accelerate out of every turn and enjoy the distinct roar of the Boxer engine.

Developed with the latest in automotive technology, the 2022 BRZ features a front engine and rear-wheel drive. The sports car’s weight is evenly distributed, and it boasts an ultra-low center of gravity, creating a sleek riding experience with crisp handling. By using aluminum for the roof, front fender and hood, Subaru reduced the weight to about 2,900 lbs. To help achieve a lower ride, Subaru upgraded the BRZ with 50 percent more torsional rigidity and 60 percent more front lateral rigidity.

The 2022 BRZ is available in two trim levels, Premium and Limited, as well as the option of a six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic transmission. Both models come with low front bucket seats and two rear seats that fold down to create a spacious cargo area.

When it comes to the BRZ’s safety and advanced driving features, Subaru once again spared no expense. Subaru’s EyeSight Drive Assist Technology with Precollision Breaking and Adaptive Cruise Control come standard. The patented Starlink safety and security system will help keep drivers secure with features like roadside assistance and collision notification.

The driver-focused interior boats a 7-inch digital cockpit display, which can be programmed to show key performance metrics, and  an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integrations.

The new 2022 BRZ will be available for sale in early fall.

2021 WRZ

For performance enthusiasts interested in a larger vehicle, the 2021 WRZ offers more space alongside advanced sports car features.  The 2021 WRX and 2021 WRZ STI are Subaru’s best-known sports vehicles and come with standard all-wheel drive.

The 2021 WRX is available standard with a six-speed manual transmission or an optional performance automatic transmission, and a 268-hp, 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged Boxer engine and active torque vectoring BOXER engine.  The 2021 WRZ is available in three trim levels: base, Premium or Limited.

Both the Premium and Limited editions come with keyless access, push-button starts and Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist technology. With optional Sport Lineartronic CVT feature SI-DRIVE, drivers can choose from three handling modes – intelligent, sports and sports sharp  – just by using a switch on the steering wheel.

The WRZ’s interior offers the latest in driver technology, including a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth integrations. The Premium and Limited boast upgraded systems with a 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen and voice activated controls for phone.

For additional comfort and safety, the Premium edition includes 10-way power driver's seat with power lumbar adjustment, steering responsive LED headlights and LED fog lights.

Not to be outdone, the Limited model boasts a bevy of upgraded features. For an additional $2,100, drivers can add a 7-inch multimedia navigation system with Harman Kardon speakers, and Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Comfort and safety upgrades include: 18-inch alloy wheels in a dark gray finish; heated front seats and windshield wiper de-icer; fog lights; power moonroof; and headlights linked with windshield wiper operation.

2021 WRZ STI

For the ultimate in power, style and performance, discerning drivers can have it all with the 2021 WRZ STI. The newest model combines Subaru’s trademark safety and technology with advanced sports car features, including Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Active Torque Vectoring and Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control.

For 2021, the WRZ is available in base and Limited trim levels.

The WRX STI includes 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels in black with machine finish; 245/35 R19 89W summer performance tires; and Brembo performance brakes using 6-piston front calipers and dual-piston rear calipers, as well as roof rack mounting brackets.

The WRX interior is styled with black Ultrasuede upholstery, red leather stitching, and red and black bolsters. For convenience, the leather steering wheel features integrated control switches for audio, cruise control and Bluetooth.

The Limited is upgraded inside and out with leather-trimmed upholstery, power moonroof,  Recaro front seats with 8-way power driver's seat; 7-inch multimedia navigation, Harman Kardon speakers and amplifier. For safety, the Limited features Blind-Spot Detection with Lane-Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
