More than a dozen trusted industry sources hand out vehicle awards, from esteemed magazine like Car & Driver, Consumer Reports or Motor Trend, and trusted third-parties including Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Kelley Blue Book or JD Power & Associates. There are awards for safety, design, overall excellence, and lifestyles. These prizes help car buyers sift through all the choices and make the best purchase.
At Maple Hill Auto, many of our Audi, Volvo, Volkswagen, Hyundai and Subaru models are perennial award winners. In fact, more than half of the vehicles we sell have won prestigious prizes. As our customers go on their car buying journey, we want to share some of our latest winners:
Subaru
Subaru is a four-time Kelly Blue Book (KBB) pick for best overall brand and has been number 1 for trusted brand for seven years running.
Leading the way is the redesigned 2021 Subaru Outback, which is earning a lot of attention and for good reason. The Outback has well-established reputation for top safety, the latest technology and comfort, and for retaining value for resale or trades. Consumer Reports named the Outback its Top SUV for 2021, and the Outback was a finalist for Car & Driver’s Best Value of 2021.
Not to be outdone, Subaru’s popular compact SUV, the Forrester, is also collecting accolades. Consumer Reports named the Forrester its Best Small SUV of 2021. The Forrester also boasts KBB’s Best Resale Value in its class for two years, and is a 2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick.
Hyundai Few brands have received more awards recently than Hyundai. And with good reason. Hyundai is known for offering safety and value, as well as the latest in design and comfort. So, it is no surprise that, last year, KBB gave top honors to NINE different Hyundai models: three KBB Best Buy Awards for the Santa Fe, Kona and Kona Electric; three earned 5-Year Cost to Own awards; and three models made the best family car list.
Hyundai’s redesigned Tucson SUV is also turning heads. Cars.com recognized the 2021 Tucson as a nominee for Best Value, while J.D. Power & Associates recognized it as a 2020 Top Family Vehicle.
Volvo
How’s this for the ultimate compliment: The IIHS awarded its top safety honors to every 2021 Volvo car and SUV. That’s 14 award-winning models.
Along with its reputation for safety, Volvo is garnering attention for its innovative new designs. Volvo’s C40 luxury SUV is a family favorite, winning Best New Family Car Award from Good Housekeeping and Car & Driver in the small luxury SUV category.
Volkswagen German automaker Volkswagen has been hard at work redesigning its fleet of cars and SUVs, and investing in electric vehicle technology. Now, those efforts are producing results. VW’s anticipated electric SUV, the 2021 ID.4, was recently named World Car of the Year 2021. Autotrader included the ID.4 as one of its 2021 Top 10 Electric Vehicles.
VW’s flagship family SUV, the 7-passenger Atlas, is Cars.com’s 2021 Family Vehicle of the Year, and Parents magazine also recognized the Atlas as this year’s top family-friendly vehicle.
Some of VW’s best-selling models are also getting attention. The Jetta ranks as a top buy for college graduates, while the Jetta, Tiguan, and Golf all made Car & Driver’s 2021 Editors’ Choice List.
Audi As a leader in style and safety, it is no surprise that Audi is a perennial award-winning. This year, KBB awarded the Audi Q5 its Best Buy Award in the compact luxury SUV category, and that’s the fourth year in a row that Q5 earned that distinction. For drivers who prefer a sedan, Audi’s flagship A4 and the newer A5 Sportback were just named 2021 IIHS Top Safety Picks.
